The Parent Information Center of Delaware is committed to providing access to our web pages for individuals with disabilities.

To support families in their role as resources to others, leaders and systems change agents Parent Training and Information PIC is a statewide nonprofit 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) organization and administers Delaware's only federally mandated Parent Training and Information Center ( PTI ) designated by the US Department of Education to provide information, training, technical assistance and support to families of children and youth with all disabilities from birth to age 26.There are 105 such Parent Training and Community Parent Resource Centers in the US and territories. To find out about the PTI in each state PIC, through its PTI, serves over 3, 000 families and professionals a year by providing individual technical assistance and problem solving, training seminars, large conferences, a newsletter with a circulation of 5, 000, a lending library and this website. These services are designed to help parents of children with learning, intellectual, emotional and physical disabilities gain greater understanding of their children's special needs and acquire the advocacy skills necessary to secure appropriate educational and other services. Parent Information and Resource Center The mission of the Delaware Parent Information and Resource Center ( DEPIRC ) is to work collaboaratively with other agencies serving families to collectively advance academic outcomes for students most at-risk of academic failure by empowering parents and caregivers to become knowledgeable and powerful advocates for school improvement and student success. To maximize the impact of the DEPIRC project, PIC is partnering with the Delaware Department of Education ( DOE ) Parents as Teachers Program in each county, as well as with local school districts and community agencies.
